Similarity Preferences Project

Do children rely on adults’ messages about similarity to choose friends? Our prior work suggests they do! Now, we are asking these questions of kids from more diverse racial backgrounds.

Multiracial Identity Project

The Multiracial population is one of the fastest-growing youth groups in the United States. Thus, we want to learn more about how children think about their Multiracial peers.

Status Disclosure Project

How do children think about identity concealment and disclosure? There are many reasons we may choose to share (or not share) about our social backgrounds. We ask how children think about peers who either share or hide information about their wealth backgrounds.

Infants’ Gender Face Processing Project

Infants process faces from the very first months of development, and their processing skills grow as they do. We ask how infants make sense of gendered facial features. Do babies as young as five months process gender features categorically or continuously?
